MEET SUSAN

New Leadership Our Community Needs

Susan was born and raised in Northern Indiana.  She moved to Elkhart County in 2009 after graduating from Thomas M, Cooley Law School.  Susan and her husband, Toby Cripe, chose to make Elkhart County their home because they love that Elkhart County is  a vibrant and family friendly community.  Susan, her husband, Toby, and their two children, Naomi and Travis live in Wakarusa.

Susan graduated from Indiana University South Bend with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice in 2002.  Susan has made community service and the betterment of children the focus of her career.  Between graduating from IUSB and attending law school, Susan worked for Girl Scouts of Signing Sands and Membership Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.

After graduating law school, Susan joined Beverly Peters and Associates, P.C. in Elkhart where she has focused her law practice on family law.  As a family law attorney Susan has had the unique experience of seeing and understanding our community in many facets, including, business, education, and the legal community.

Susan is involved in the community in several ways including as a board member for Ryan's Place in Goshen, and an active member and volunteer in church, Wakarusa United Methodist Church, and she is in the Town of Wakarusa Tree Board.

Susan is running for Elkhart County Commissioner District 3 to provide a new voice and different perspective than the usual.  Susan understands that as our community changes leadership needs to listen and adapt.  It is also important that community leaders provide transparency and inclusiveness in the decision making process.

Susan is looking forward to listening to the residents of Elkhart County  and working together to make Elkhart County to best place to live, work, and play.
